British Government Says Christians Don't Have Right To Wear Cross Or Crucifix At Work

After facing consequences for refusing to cover or remove

their crosses at work, two Christian women are taking the

case to European Court of Human Rights. A group of 

ministers is set to back employer regulations banning

religious regalia in the workplace, arguing that wearing

 crosses aren´t a "requirement" of the Christian faith.

Acontece na Inglaterra: duas trabalhadoras levaram à justiça inglesa o direito de usarem crucifixo no pescoço e perderam, dando ganho de causa a seus patrões que os haviam proibido. Impressiona como dia a dia os governantes estão se intrometendo nas questões privadas. O uso de véu para as muçulmanas, crucifixos nas paredes de órgãos públicos, ensino de religião e criacionismo nas escolas e por aí vai. Manifestações religiosas em público serão proibidas muito em breve!
Elas apelaram para a corte da Convenção Europeia pela Liberdade Religiosa. O artigo em questão é o 9 - "Liberdade de pensamento, consciência e religião". Vejam a redação deste e como dá margem para manter esta proibição (item 2):

1. Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief, in worship, teaching, practice and observance.

2. Freedom to manifest one’s religion or beliefs shall be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of public safety, for the protection of public order, health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.
